This is a brief service journalism post for Nikon digital SLR cameras.
You may know that a 50mm lens is a good general purposes lens for film cameras. But Nikon DX format cameras are not full frame; that is, they’re smaller than 35mm. If you have a Nikon DX camera (I have a Nikon D5000, for example), you actually want a 35mm lens to achieve he same effect that a 50mm lens would on a full frame, or 35mm film, camera.
I learned this after buying a Yongnuo 50mm lens for Nikon mounts. It’s great! But it’s super zoomed in on my Nikon D5000. But now I’m trying a 35mm Yongnuo lens and it’s exactly what I wanted. A 35mm lens on a DX system is what you want for casual use.
