Youtube has, oddly enough, become a platform to launch independent music careers, as it encourages original content and exploration; the site’s organized to spend a lot of time clicking around on related content without a destination in mind. And so I discovered indie musician Lauren O’Connell through her collaborations with Pomplamoose.

She’s crazy talented.

I’ve been enjoying her albums, which are available on iTunes. The Shakes is her sophomore effort, and has a more refined, fuller sound than the other, which I suspect was recorded with a home-brewed amateur set-up.

She’s recording a new album right now, from what I gather. It’s great to stumble upon a talent so early in her career.
